My #ChrisEvan’s obsession is out of fucking control

You all know how I feel about signs. If you don’t, here’s a recap. I truly believe that the Universe gives you exactly what you need when you need it, whether or not you want it.
Which is why yesterday as I was in a pretty shitty mood I started watching Graham Norton video’s. If you haven’t heard of the absolute genius that is the Graham Norton show, you’re life will not be complete until you do.

As per usual Mr. Norton was doing his best -and succeeding I might add- to cheer me up. Sadly as I was going through the various full episodes available on YouTube, (Don’t judge me, I needed to laugh and I don’t get BBC) I noticed that Chris Evans has either not yet been on the show (WHAT?!) or I can’t find the video. Either way I wanted to smile and laugh and so I went looking for one of his old interviews, because why not. (Oh shut up do not judge me!)

I ended up finding this:

So it’s basically Evan’s answering questions from his fans. (Way cool of him.) One of the questions was about how he deals with fame and his private life.

His answer was mostly about going home where he can be himself and not worry about being surrounded by adoring fans. (tough life) but more importantly he started talking about his ego and how he keeps it in check.

He said that at some point he has to remind himself to stay in the here and now, instead of worrying about tomorrow or what comes next. He was talking about how we need to appreciate life as it comes, not worry about what might/could/would/should happen; and most importantly I think, not to be bitter about not being where you think you should be, but instead appreciate the road that will take you to where you want to be.

Which okay Duh. Basic advice right? Except that I found it rather interesting because that’s what I am trying to focus on right now. How do I focus on the here and now without stressing about the future?

Well I (not often) sometimes go to the Tarot. Now if you haven’t seen me say this before I fucking hate the Tarot – in a respectful kind of way. I hate being told to do what I need to do, especially when I know that I’m procrastinating from doing what I need to do out of fear! It is sooo fucking annoying.

Yet that is what the Tarot is for cher, to tell you what you think you know, and help you figure out what you don’t.

So recently I’ve been using This deck called “Earth Magic Oracle” by Steven D. Farmer. It’s by far the best deck I’ve ever used.

With other decks you deal the cards by mixing them up, and if the cards show up head to bottom it’s a sign that whatever the reading is, it means it’s happening now. If it comes up bottom to top it’s a sign that the reading is telling you that the card is saying it’s something that could/might come up.

The Earth Magic cards are dealt as they are. Top to bottom, each one showcases the light and the dark of each card giving you the meaning.

So for instance, one card is the “Tree” which represents “Grounding.” When this card comes up it’s a reminder that you need to spend some time in nature. It doesn’t get flipped upside down because the fact that it comes up at all tells you to focus on both the positives and the negatives of this card.

For instance, a tree doesn’t bitch and moan when it loses it’s leaves. It doesn’t cry and scream and yell when it’s time for the tree to accept natures natural course and change. It just accepts that this is the way life is at the moment. The Tree understands that no matter what it looks like or how many leaves it has, it is forever connected to the earth itself without any extra adoration or sparkly reminders.

WHOA! MIND BLOWING! (Not really shoosh)

Nature, birds, trees, fish in the sea, they all just go with the flow. They don’t stress out about every little detail or worry about the future, they live life accepting the ebb and flow of the natural order. This is how I would like to start living my life.

Of course I want to set goals for my future, and work towards them, but with a healthy dose of the Universal reminder that things happen for a reason. That every challenge, every decision and every choice are made specifically because they are the challenges, decisions and choices we need to be making in the moment.

Does any of this make sense or am I just rambling again? I’d love your thoughts so feel free to comment below.

  1. Well, yes, you are rambling, but also making sense. Oracles are a fascinating subject. That quote about the Taro applies to oracles in general. The only one I’ve ever spent any serious time with is the I Ching, and that was long ago. The oracle, contrary to the image of fortune telling, does not foretell, but with its imagery in response to a question offers a gateway to our spiritual or intuitive mind when the rational mind is stumped or confused. From your description, those Earth Magic Cards seem to be a wonderful fit for you.

  2. I related to this a lot. I’ve been going through changes and growth lately, and it seems the universe is sending me signs. I too have a certain actor I adore so much, and the other day I was watching an interview with him, and he brought up something important I had been going through as well! It’s weird how these things happen, and how the people we admire can bring wisdom and messages to us without even realizing they are doing it.

    • I honestly call them Soul-Mates. I am convinced that just because you don’t know someone, doesn’t mean they aren’t meant to somehow give you exactly what you need, when you need it. ❤ It's a really weird world we live in, so I'm just going with it though lol.

      • It’s crazy you say that. I feel the exact same and was saying that to someone just the other day. Some of my friends act like I’m silly for getting these intense feelings toward people I’ve never met, but it’s not like it happens with just any hot guy on television. It rarely happens at all, actually. So when it does, I think it’s legitimately meaningful. I didn’t have a crush on anyone for a long time before this, so if nothing else, it has showed me there are guys out there I can be attracted to–even if they are few and far between. It gave me the hope I needed. 🙂

      • It’s totally true. I think that there are people in this world, that are meant to inspire us, or teach us, guide us to our potential selves and sometimes we might not be able to recognize that without a little push.I’m not saying Chris Evan’s is my soul-mate btw lol but I will say that listening to him talk about his beliefs has certainly helped me figure out a lot of the darkness in my own mind so I’ll take it.

Im not dating or thinking about dating because Im focused on myself, but yeah I get that, that feeling that like ne day maybe, the person Im meant to be with will be there..when we’re ready. Not before. ❤
